The government, within the whole domestic product, is planning to grow the educational share to 11%. As stated by the Prime Minister, every year, 25% of the budget has to be directed towards education. According to the new legislative initiative, in 2020, the educational budget will be 2 Million Gel, in 2021 – 2 500 000 000 Gel, and In 2022 it will top the 6% of GDP and reach 3 Billion 400 Million Gel.
Forbes looked into European GDP shares in educational expenses. According to the World Bank, this indicator in Europe equals an average of 4.7%, whereas in Georgia it is 3.8%.
