Electrifying Tbilisi, One Charger at a Time<\/strong><\/h5>\n

Electrify Georgia<\/strong>, a local pioneer in electric vehicle (EV) charging infrastructure, is on a mission: to electrify Tbilisi and make EV adoption not only possible but practical for all. With a growing network of ultra-fast DC charging stations powered by smart technology, the company is laying the foundation for a cleaner urban transport system\u2014one that reduces air pollution, noise, and the city\u2019s overall carbon footprint.<\/p>\n

\u201cGeorgia has everything it needs to leapfrog into a sustainable mobility future,\u201d says Beso Papiashvili<\/strong>, CEO of Electrify Georgia. \u201cOur job is to accelerate that shift by solving the biggest pain point\u2014reliable, accessible charging infrastructure.\u201d<\/p>\n

Georgia\u2019s EV Market: Poised for Growth<\/strong><\/h5>\n

The numbers speak volumes. In 2024, Georgia imported 5,402 electric vehicles<\/strong>, marking a 151% increase<\/strong> compared to 2023, setting an absolute record over the last decade. This surge reflects a rapidly growing interest in green transportation, especially among younger, urban consumers.<\/p>\n

Despite this impressive growth, when benchmarked against regional peers like Turkey<\/strong>\u2014where EVs accounted for 10.2%<\/strong> of the 1,014,830 cars registered between January and December 2024\u2014Georgia still has ground to cover.<\/p>\n

Nevertheless, Georgia holds a unique edge: more than 75% of its electricity<\/strong> already comes from renewable sources, primarily hydropower. This means EVs in Georgia aren\u2019t just low-emission\u2014they\u2019re practically zero-emission in their operational life.<\/p>\n

Building for the Future, Today<\/strong><\/h5>\n

Electrify Georgia is currently rolling out the next generation of fast chargers\u2014150 kW and above<\/strong>\u2014strategically located in high-traffic urban areas and along intercity routes. These chargers are fully integrated with a mobile app experience, offering drivers real-time availability, navigation, and payment\u2014all in a few taps.<\/p>\n

The company\u2019s vision doesn\u2019t stop with infrastructure. Electrify Georgia is also focused on sparking behavioral change\u2014educating the public, engaging with municipalities, and advocating for policies that make EVs more accessible to the average Georgian driver.<\/p>\n

Regional Comparisons: A Mixed Landscape<\/strong><\/h5>\n

In Armenia<\/strong>, the EV market is also witnessing growth. By early 2025, nearly 5,000 electric vehicles<\/strong> had already been imported into the country, approaching the annual quota established by the Eurasian Economic Commission.<\/p>\n

Azerbaijan<\/strong> is experiencing a nascent yet promising shift toward electric mobility. In 2023, the country imported 3,102 electric vehicles<\/strong>, a 19-fold increase<\/strong> compared to 2021. While the overall number remains modest, the trajectory suggests growing interest and potential for future expansion.<\/p>\n

Turkey<\/strong> presents a more advanced scenario. As of the end of 2024, there were 183,776 EVs<\/strong> registered in Turkey, representing 1.1%<\/strong> of the total 16.2 million cars<\/strong> on the road. The Turkish government aims to have EVs comprise 30% of its auto market by 2025<\/strong>, reflecting significant policy support and infrastructure development.<\/p>\n

Tbilisi as a Regional Role Model<\/strong><\/h5>\n

Compared to its neighbors, Georgia has the potential to become a model for sustainable urban development in the South Caucasus. In Armenia and Azerbaijan, EV penetration remains in its early stages. In Turkey, progress is more pronounced, driven by substantial government investment. Georgia\u2019s EV revolution, on the other hand, is being shaped by nimble, private-sector innovators\u2014like Electrify Georgia\u2014who are moving fast and thinking big.<\/p>\n
