Georgia would supply Turkey with one billion kilowatt hours of electricity as part of a deal to pay its electricity debt. As reported, Georgia acknowledged the arrears for electricity supply by Turkey in 1990-2011. The term for paying off the debt was defined as 20 years. The debt will be gradually repaid by Georgian ESCO by supplying electricity back to Turkey to Turkish TETAS, which is authorized by Turkish government for conducting short and long-term agreements. The debt repayment will start from 2019.
