According to the National Wine Agency of Georgia, in January-May 2018, 31,5 mln bottles of wine (0,75l) were exported from Georgia to different countries of the world, which is 27% more than the rate of the same period last year. The value of the exported wine is 75,3 mln USD. The increase compared to the same period of last year made 36%.
Among PDO wines, the biggest number of following wines are being exported:
- Kindzmarauli – 5,7 mln bottles
- Mukuzani – 1,7 mln bottles
- Tsinandali – 1,4 mln bottles
- Akhasheni – 638 thousand bottles
- Khvanchkara – 282 thousand bottles
- Tvishi – 140 thousand bottles
- Kvareli – 58 thousand bottles
Top five export countries are:
- Russia (20 439 494 bottles)
- Ukraine (3 149 059 bottles)
- China (2 331 800 bottles)
- Kazakhstan (1 379 698 bottles)
- Poland (1 300 222 bottles).
172 companies exported different volume of wine within the accounting period.
