By the end of 2016 (in the 4th quarter), number of mobile subscribers in Georgia made 5,5 mln. Compared to the 4th quarter of 2015, number of subscribers decreased by 31 thousand.
Based on the information, provided by the National Commission of Communications, by the end of 2016, market share of Magticom by number of subscribers made 39,2%, Geocel – 35,1%, Mobitel – 25,3%, Silknet – 0,4%.
Retail income of mobile operators in 2016 made 418 mln GEL, which, compared to income generated by retail trade in 2015, was 2,7% more (11,1 mln GEL). By retail income, market share of Magticom was 45,8%, Geocel – 36,8%, Mobitel – 17,0%, Silknet – 0,3%.
