Louis Vuitton will start selling luxury face shields complete with the recognizable LV monogram and gold studs, an attempt to make personal protective equipment into a fashion statement.
Louis Vuitton’s face shields, part of the company’s 2021 Cruise collection, will include an elastic monogrammed strap attached to a shield with gold studs engraved with the LV logo.
The face shield can be flipped up and turned into a hat, according to Vanity Fair, and will shift from clear to dark in the sunlight like one giant transition lens.
It will be available for purchase on October 30 for $961, according to Vanity Fair, but other outlets have reported that pricing isn’t finalized.
Other luxury brands, such as Fendi, Palm Angels, Marine Serre and Cristian Siriano, have made branded cloth masks, but haven’t ventured into making a full face shield.
