According to official data provided by the National Agency of Public Registry, in January 2018, number of business entities registered in country was 3 906, 97.2% of which are enterprises and 2.8% are non-enterprise entities. In January, number of enterprises increased by 4.9% and number of non-enterprise entities reduced by 0.9%.
Same trend was observed in relation to the same period of last year: number of enterprises increased by 4.3% and number of non-enterprise entities reduced by 48.6%.
Non-enterprise entities are non-enterprise legal entities, branches of foreign non-enterprise legal entities, public law legal entities.
In January, majority of business entities were registered in the form of sole proprietorship (1 646 entities, i.e. 42,1% of all registered business entities) and limited companies (2 126 entities, i.e. 54.4% of all registered business entities). It is obvious that 96.6% of business entities prefer the above legal status. Within the same period, following entities were registered in the country: 108 non-enterprise entities, branches of 6 foreign enterprises, 9 joint stock companies, 10 cooperatives and 1 joint liability society.
Based on the number of business entities registered in January 2018, top 10 territorial units and growth/reduction trends in relation to previous month and same month of the previous year were revealed.
