Renault and Nissan are scrapping their merger plans, reports Reuters, citing anonymous sources.
The two carmakers — partners along with Mitsubishi — will instead focus on “fix[ing] their troubled alliance.”
The companies plan to make several announcements this week to outline their restructuring plans, including announcing several thousands of jobs cuts, as well as how they plan to recover from the global pandemic that has severely affected the auto industry.
