According to information provided by LEPL National Wine Agency of Georgia at the Ministry of Agriculture, in January 2018, 5,12 mln bottles (0,75 l) of wine were exported from Georgia to 24 countries of the world, which by 18% exceeds the rate of January last year. Within the accounting period, wine worth of 11,4 mln USD was exported, which is a 31% increase compared to rate the similar period of last year.
Increase of export is notable in the following countries: Kazakhstan – 108% (220 776), Hong Kong – 100% (15 486), Japan – 95% (26 892), Latvia – 90% (116 226), Ukraine – 55% (624 030), Russia – 24% (3 534 780), Poland – 13% (117 018), Israel – 12% (19 680), Netherlands – 39% (2 248), etc.
Top five exporting countries are: Russia (3 534 780), Ukraine (624 030), China (250 238), Kazakhstan (220 776) and Poland (177 018).
Up to 70 companies exported different volumes of wine at the beginning of the year.
Besides, 1,06 mln bottles (0,5 l) of brandy and 8,2 thousand bottles (0,5) of chacha were exported in January.
