World’s Most ‘Expensive’ Divorces

After the divorce, the richest man on the planet, Jeff Bezos, will leave 4% of Amazon share to his spouse, which at the moment, equals $35 Billion. As a result, Bezos’ wife will hold the third position among the Forbes’ list of the richest women in the world. Also, Bezos’ divorce will be counted as most ‘expensive’ in the world. So far, no couple has received this much money after the divorce.

According to Forbes, the most expensive divorces were of following couples:

  • Jeff and MacKenzie Bezos:  minimum $35 Billion

The couple officially announced the divorce by the start of this year, with the wedding contract to be completed by the Summer. Subsequently, in case MaCkenzie Bezos receives only 4% share of Amazon, she will still be listed third among the richest women in the world. Regarding Bezos’ other assets, with the available information, he is planning to completely keep Blue Origin and The Washington Post.

  • Bill and Sou Gross: $1.3 Billion

The founder of the Pimco company and his wife separated in 2016. As a result, Sou Gross was left with $1.3 Billion, which includes their Laguna Beach house estimated at $36. She also kept the painting of Picasso, which later was sold for $35 Million. Bill Gross in his marriage was actively trying to keep three cats, previously owned by the couple, however, the cats were also left to Sou Gross.   • Steve and Elaine Wynn: $850 Million

The founders of the Casino chain, Wynn Resorts, separated in 2010, this being the second occasion of their divorce. From 2002 Elaine was the head of the supervisory board of the company. After the divorce, she received a total of 11 million shares, which equals $795 Million. In the same year, the couple sold the part of their share and Elaine received a significant amount of its cost.

  • Harold Hamm and  და Sue Arnall: $975 Million

After 26 years of marriage and three years of divorcing process, the oil magnate wrote a check to his spouse worth of  $974,790,317. At first, Sue Arnall did not agree with this deal and demanded the share of Continental Resources, however, in 2015 the divorce case completed.

  • Roy and Patricia Disney: $600 Million

After 52 years of marriage, 77 and 72-year-old couple, has decided to get divorced. Roy is the nephew of Walt Disney, and by that time, his net worth was estimated at $1.3 Billion. After the divorce, he lost almost half of his wealth and therefore did not make to the Forbes’ top 400 list.
